Barbara Johnessee, Business Administrator
Barbara has been an integral part of our team since its inception. She enjoys interacting with our patients at the front desk, as well as the behind-the-scenes operation of our practice. She is very proud of the staff we’ve assembled as we continually strive to improve the level of care we provide. Outside of work, Barbara enjoys reading, playing golf, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Melanie Ross, Dental Assistant
Melanie, a certified dental assistant, has worked with Dr. Johnessee for almost 20 years. She’s a graduate of the expanded function dental assistant program at Harrisburg Area Community College and a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. Melanie enjoys the variety in her job and working in an office that offers patients an array of services. She is an avid trap shooter and loves to read. Recently married to her husband, Justin, Melanie is stepmother to his children, Clay and Tori.
Nicolle Weekly, Dental Hygienist
Nicolle received her associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Allegany Community College and has over 20 years of experience in her field. She appreciates working with qualified, motivated colleagues at a state-of-the-art practice and enjoys the patient relationships that she has developed over the years. Her commitment to continuing education allows Nicolle to achieve her professional potential and provide personalized care for each patient. Nicolle values time with her husband, Doug, her two children, Parker and Paige, and their two minature schnauzers, Comet and Shiloh. Her interests include crafts and cooking. On weekends and evenings, Nicolle shuttles her kids to various sports and activities and plays basketball with her family.
Michelle Lash, Registered Dental Hygienist
Michelle has a bachelor of science degree from Penn State. After obtaining an associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Harrisburg Area Community College, she became a part-time clinical instructor there. She believes the excellent patient care provided by our practice is a result of the team’s motivation to constantly advance our knowledge. Her professional memberships include the Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene Association and the American Dental Hygiene Association. She has been married to her husband, Dave, for 17 years, and together they have two children, Coulson and Kalyn. When not at work, Michelle enjoys reading, gardening, attending her children's swim, tae kwon do, and baseball events, and vacationing at Disney World and Chincoteague, VA. She plans to attend Broadway musicals in the future.
Lisa Grothouse, Practice Administrator
Lisa’s top priority as practice administrator is patient relations. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of our office and maintaining a well-balanced schedule for the dentist, she works with patients to maximize insurance benefits. Lisa holds an associate’s degree from the Yorktowne Business Institute, is a certified dental practice management administrator, and has over two decades of dental experience. She is certified by the Dental Assisting National Board and maintains membership in the American Dental Assistants Association. Lisa takes pleasure in her assortment of responsibilities, along with being part of a fun, supportive, and highly educated team. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, reading, kayaking and spending time with her husband, Paul, her children, Nikki and Paul, and their two German shepherds, Miah and Kiah.
Karen Fritz, Dental Assistant
Karen, a graduate of Dover High School, has 32 years of dental assisting experience and 32 years with the practice. In addition to helping chairside, Karen's daily duties involve equipment sterilization, preparing models, and making custom teeth whitening trays. She is thankful to work with such a devoted, educated team and loves seeing patients walk out of the practice with smiles on their faces. Away from the office, Karen enjoys riding her motorcycle, gardening, going to the gym, and spending time with friends.
Holly Ballou, Administrative Assistant
Holly is one of the first faces you’ll see in our office. Her warm personality and experience make her a wonderful asset to patients and staff alike. Holly earned her degree in travel and office administration from Consolidated School of Business in York and came to us with customer service and administrative assistant experience. She enjoys meeting new patients and working with a family-oriented team. Outside of work, Holly loves to spend time with her husband, Lyle, and their three children, Landon, Addison, and Kaylyn. Her entire crew likes to fish, attend local sprint car races, and watch the Cowboys win!
